Minerva had written out all of the owls a few days before, but in anticipation of hearing from Harry Potter about the status of Grimmauld Place, she set them aside. Now however, she realized that the journals that the Ministry had given would be a better use of her resources. She'd been nervous about this for days, rallying everyone once again... doing this without Albus seemed wrong somehow, but what choice did she have? Since Hermione's attack, she had known that it had to be done. If there was Death Eater activity once again, then it fell to her to gather everyone and make plans.

She used her wand to burn any trace of the owls she had carefully written out, then began an entry in her journal.

Severus,

I have a few matters that need to be discussed with you before the term begins. Would you be so kind as to join me in my private quarters, as I understand the Headmaster's office makes you uncomfortable. I have buscuits and tea, perhaps a nip of something stronger should it be needed.

Minerva sat in the Headmaster's private quarters at Hogwarts, the place she'd made her home for nearly as long as she could remember. She'd felt uncomfortable moving into these quarters, but vacating hers and moving here was a must due to the proximity of the office she now occupied. She sat at the small writting desk in the corner, away from the eyes of the portraits of previous headmasters. Her bottle of 25 year old Glenfidditch whiskey sat on the corner of the desk, along with her prized crystal glass that was a gift from Albus years ago, half filled with whiskey. She sipped it slowly as she wrote in her journal. Most of the time she didn't mind being alone, but lately it had begun taking its toll on her.
